Last market for the year today & the weather smiled upon it & hence the huge crowds! Picturesque setting amongst the gum trees. Ample parking around racecourse for $5. Note: second entry if driving down Coolart Rd from M11. I bungled & entered into the 1st narrow lane for stallholders (despite reading signage 🙃).
A very pleasant surprise - after visiting quite a few craft markets recently - to find this one actually had many stalls. Prices are upmarket but uniqueness & quality is what it is about. More variety with the street food here too. Walk around for your cuppa - I had excellent hot choc from the chirpy ladies at Mr Ed's Coffee Bar.
Just a great day out here with buskers providing live music to add to the charm. Kids seemed to be enjoying it - there's also a playground in the middle to keep them happy. Lots of seating around with padded upturned milk crates which makes it conducive to hanging around longer. Not a place to wear your designer footwear- it is pretty dusty! Toilets are kind of obscured - ask stallholders.
Great market with a variety of wares, predominantly upscale artsy goods. There is some food - try the donuts! Be prepared for crowds. Parking is $5 in the middle of the racecourse, you do have to drive over a little bridge over the actual racetrack surface but no cars seemed to have issues making it over.
Let me preface this review by saying that is if parking were free here, the rating would be a little higher. Parking is ridiculously not free which is disappointing. $5 as well. It should be a gold coin donation. No other free parking around so you’re locked in and have to pay. Signs everything fear mongering market goers saying to not park anywhere else otherwise parking officers will fine you. They really want their $5 don’t they for the 100s of cars parked there hey? Stalls are 95% overpriced for what you’re getting with some saving graces. Food stalls were not varied and again, overpriced. This is just a glorified and floorshowy Little Beauty Market. It’s run by the same mob. Just go to Little Beauty Market. At least there is free parking there and a short walk if you need to park further down. Not going back here.
I visited this market only twice, both times a few years apart. Food and the music atmosphere was spot on and exactly what you need for a god overall vibe. But only downside is that it's a bit of a hot dustbowl with waaayyy too many people in a small area. And long queues for food, obviously... because the food is sheer amazing. Thanks!
One of the absolute BEST markets in Victoria! A high quality eclectic mix of stalls that never disappoint, vibrant atmosphere, and wonderful food! The organisers really know what they're doing, amazing!
Such an incredible location and atmosphere. Great music (two areas have local musicians), easy parking ($5, includes entry for everyone in the vehicle), and a huge abundance of stalls. Lots of shade, seating around the market, facilities and a playground in the middle too. You could easily spend hours here!
Great market but remote and difficult to access. Very poor public transport with an infrequent bus stopping over 2km away and very poor walk-in access, no pathways, you walk in with the cars through the parking. Only really set up for car users.
Nice atmosphere and a good range of quality products. Not much for the boys though in my opinion. Wife was happy and took her time going through. Gozmole was beautiful.
Its stalls were so terribly repetitive the same ceramics, earrings, boho clothes.
Stall holders are snobs, we were ignored on several occasions and moved on rather then wait 10 more minutes to pay.
Emu Plains Market at Balnarring is a very popular market There are plenty of new handmade products and lots of food choices .Plenty of jewelry , clothes trinkets, prints, some chutneys and drinks, so much more I purchased some cider , baby clothes, fresh licorice ,soap and sandals We did the whole market Could of stayed longer and listened to music but had to be elsewhere As markets go this is worth the trip
